6 Films To Binge Watch With Your Siblings This Rakshabandhan!
A sibling relationship can aptly be described with the Bollywood dialogue, "Tera saath jena mushkil, tere bina bhi jeena mushkil”. They are your first best friends and your worst enemy, all clubbed into one. From saving your back when mom asks about your whereabouts, to make sure you can’t sleep till noon on the weekend, from purposely eating the last piece of cake that you saved yourself, to sneakily opening the front door when you come home late, siblings are the best thing that can happen to any kid.
And since today is Rakshabandhan, you have no excuse for not spending quality time with your brothers and sisters. And to convert this day into a memorable movie marathon experience, we’ve got a list of movies for you. Take your pick!
1. Frozen 1
In this cute animated movie, Anna sets on an adventure to find her sister, Snow Queen Elsa to break the magical spell and free her kingdom from the never-ending winter. What follows is a story about deep sibling love and family.
2. Dil Dhadakne Do
A realistic take on an upper-class Delhi family. Coming from the ace director Zoya Akhtar, the film might look like a movie talking about rich people problems, but it is so much more than just that. The conflicts in the film are authentic and they’re rendered with genuine emotion. What makes Dil Dhadakne Do so enjoyable is not just the dysfunctional family plot, but the likeable characters. The bond between Priyanka Chopra aka Ayesha, and her brother Kabir, played by Ranveer Singh is so real, its hard to believe they are just acting. There is no fluff, it’s a straight-up great film.
This child thriller comes from the brilliant director Vishal Bharadwaj. A story about twin sisters, where one of them goes missing and the other one sets on an adventure to find her. There is also a witch who supposedly turns children into animals if they stray into her villa. All this clubbed with brilliant acting and a great background score makes this one a great film that shouldn’t be missed.
4. Hum Saath Saath Hai
Watch this movie for the sheer bouts of laughter that you will experience after watching the overdose of sibling love depicted in this one. Coming from Rajshri Productions, the movie is a family drama, celebrating love and the bond between brothers and sisters, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, and the list goes on (it’s a joint family, duh!). However, the all-encompassing love will surely get to you, and you’ll thank god for your family. All fams are crazy but yours can’t be this batshit mental. A must watch, especially today!
5. Haseena Maan Jaayegi
